Microneedling
What is Micro needling?
Microneedling is an excellent treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. It is a treatment that resurfaces the skin without laser or surgery and with minimal downtime. Microneedling is a procedure that involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of the skin. These tiny puncture wounds trigger the body’s natural healing response to heal these holes, in turn naturally producing collagen and elastin to tighten and improve the texture of the skin.
At Sculpt Medispa we use a handheld device, a pen-like device that delivers the highest level of skin treatment, without surgery. The Pen features a 6mm replaceable Pen tip with 14 needles that apply treatments to the skin evenly. The treatment is complete with the application of hyaluronic acid which moisturizes the skin, restores its internal environment, and helps maintain natural functions in the skin, or can be used in combination with Vampire Facials.
Microneedling is a great option for anyone who wants to rejuvenate the skin, improve skin imperfections such as fine lines and wrinkles, and maintain a youthful appearance. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, and hands. The treatment involves little to no discomfort or downtime. Depending on your skin condition, multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired response and may be combined with other anti-aging treatments. What Benefits Does Micro needling Have on the Skin?
Micro needling improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of scars. It also stimulates tissue regeneration, disfiguring scars, especially acne scars can be improved as new collagen fibers elevate the depressed scar tissue with the periphery skin.
Does Micro needling hurt?
Micro needling procedures aren’t painful, but they can be uncomfortable, especially for patients who may be afraid of needles. We ensure that we use topical anesthesia to numb the area prior to the treatment to help ensure that patients are as comfortable as can be. The topical anesthesia cream will sit on your face for about 15-30 minutes and is fully washed off before the treatment.
What Can I Expect Post A Micro needling Treatment?
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish which may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to protect the skin with zinc-based sunblock. The use of mineral makeup is recommended after the procedure. There are a few temporary side effects to be aware of with microneedling. The procedure causes short-term swelling, redness, and skin flaking, which can last for a few days. Most people can return to wearing regular makeup within a day of treatment.
What Should I Avoid On My Skin After Treatment?
To ensure the right healing environment, for 2-3 days do not use AHAs (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or active ingredients. Exposure to sun should also be avoided or zinc-based sunblock should be used.
Are Microneedling results permanent?
The effects of a micro needling pen are not permanent, so clinicians recommend a maintenance program which could include quarterly procedures to keep skin looking it’s best. This along with an effective home skin care product routine will prolong the results and increase effectiveness
