What to Expect:

Before the procedure. 

We will first schedule a consultation to ask you questions about your goals and concerns. You will learn all about the procedure, and we will discuss if you are a suitable candidate for masseter Botox and how you can prepare for this treatment. 

We will examine your jaw and face and will determine the injection site and the number of syringes you need. We can also discuss what you may look like over time and the cost of this treatment. 

During the procedure. 

One of our highly trained, certified and professional team members will clean your skin to reduce the risk of infection. We may use topical anesthesia to numb the area if we feel this is necessary. We will then prepare a syringe with the botulinum toxin, and the syringe will have a very thin needle. 

We will insert the needle into your masseter muscle and will slowly withdraw the needle as we inject the toxin. We may repeat this procedure on the other side, and the number of syringes we use will depend on what we are treating. 

The procedure will usually take about 15 minutes to complete. 

After the treatment. 

This treatment does not require any recovery time, and you will be able to return to your usual activities after your treatment. There are certain things you must avoid, however, for 24 hours after your treatment, including rubbing the treated area, placing pressure on the treated area and exercising. These actions can cause the toxin to spread to other parts of your face. 

Results

Most patients will see full results in about a week, although some people may notice results within 1 to 3 days. 

We remind our clients that the effects of Botox are temporary and tend to last about three to four months. You can maintain the results however by repeating the procedure, and we will discuss a suitable schedule if you are interested.
